Urtasun on the hunt in Asturias
Pablo Urtasun will continue to chase that elusive first win of the season as he spearheads Euskaltel in the Vuelta a Asturias this weekend.
The veteran has come close on several occasions recently, placing second in the Vuelta a La Rioja and third on a stage and overall in the Vuelta a Castilla y León, and will on Friday embark on the three-day event with a strong support crew. Giro-bound Amets Txurruka, Pierre Cazaux, Adrián Sáez, Victor Cabedo, Jon Izagirre and Miguel Mínguez will be present, as well as young climber Peio Bilbao, the team's website today reports. Urtasun already has two stages to his name in Samuel Sánchez's home race, and will be looking to build on that on Friday's stage to Gijón and Saturday's early-morning stage to Avíles.
Profiles of the three stages, of which the last will count as the Subida al Naranco, can be found here.
